Success with Metrol’s theft and damage proof technology.

Access to Oil wells located in the Niger Delta in Nigeria can be difficult and dangerous.
In 2014 Metrol installed a wireless bottomhole data acquisition system in a remote well in the Delta region. Pressure and temperature data has been delivered wirelessly to the client’s office for the last three and a half years, avoiding the mandatory annual visits to the well site to collect data.
Unlike conventional surface powered systems like solar panels that have previously been vulnerable to theft and damage, Metrol’s integrated surface system is disguised as a wing valve. It has no wellhead penetrations, contains both a wireless transceiver for downhole communications and a satellite for onward transmission, ensuring safe, seamless and reliable reservoir monitoring.
Since starting business 30 years ago, Metrol has equipped over 1,000 wells with its wireless technology.
